STAY IN AUSTIN

We used Airbnb to find a great condo on E. 4th Street/ Brazos Street in downtown Austin. The host was easy to stay in touch with prior to arrival, so we had everything we needed to enter the gated community one we rolled into town. The condo itself was great – just what we needed for our stay as a couple (though it slept four with the pullout couch). It was equipped with all of the appliances and amenities we needed, and the white, modern decor left the place feeling clean and updated. The best part? It was steps away from all of the action, so we didn't have to walk far to anything.

PLAY IN AUSTIN - FOOD TOUR

We've made it a habit to look for local food tours when we travel, and I have to say that Austin Eats' tour of the South Congress Neighborhood was one of the best we've been on. Our tour guide, Cory, was just our vibe - laid back. He was very well informed about the neighborhood and the local spots we visited. The tour lasted a couple of hours and led us around a fairly compact area, so we didn't have to walk all that much. Tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays, but are available throughout the week if you have a private or special event. Places we tried: Jo's, Snack Bar Fine Foods, Guero's Taco Bar, Homeslice, HopDoddy Burger Bar, and Burro Cheese Kitchen.

PLAY IN AUSTIN - MASSAGE

One of my favorite massages to date was at Milk + Honey ! I try to do my research prior to traveling, and I read nothing but great reviews about this spa, so naturally I booked an appointment for a couple's massage during our trip. Ryan and I were welcomed warmly upon our arrival, shown the locker room, and quickly settled into their cozy robes. We met back up in their waiting area, which was much more spacious than other spas. We settled on their comfortable couches and sipped cucumber water until our appointment (we were a bit early). 60 minutes, lavender aromatherapy, many hot towels, and an amazing massage later, I was in heaven. If you are looking to pamper yourself while in Austin, definitely stop here!
