THE WORLD IS A BOOK, AND THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL READ ONLY ONE PAGE. - ST. AUGUSTINE

We found Scottsdale to be the culinary, cocktail, and cacti capital of the West.

STAY IN SCOTTSDALE

The Hyatt Place Scottsdale/Old Town was in the perfect location - easy walking to everything! The rooms were clean, modern, and had separate living and sleeping areas. We enjoyed the convenience of the complimentary full breakfast each morning (think eggs and bacon - not just a couple stale pastries many places have) as well as the free wi-fi! The only downside was that they didn't have a fitness center onsite (yeah, we workout on vacay), BUT they did offer complimentary access to a nearby LA Fitness. We would totally stay here again during a future visit.

DINE IN SCOTTSDALE

There are a TON of great restaurants, bars, and lounges throughout Scottsdale, and we definitely didn't have time to try them all! I guess that leaves us an excuse to go back - which Ryan won't complain about. Check out a few of our favorites below!

The Mission

The Mission
3815 N Brown Avenue, Scottsdale
480-636-5005

This spot is very romantic! We opted for the tableside gucamole, the Tecate skirt steak tacos, shrimp anticuchos, and some margaritas!

Cien Agaves Chips and Salsa

Cien Agaves
7228 E 1st Avenue, Scottsdale
480-970-9002

We stumbled upon this place while we were wandering around Old Town. We loved their margarita menu and enjoyed some chips + salsa.

Bootlegger's

Bootlegger's
7217 E 1st Street, Scottsdale
480-404-9984

For the LOVE OF GOD, get the Nacho Flat. I still dream about this dish and have tried (and failed) to replicate it at home. SO GOOD!

Culinary Dropout

Culinary Dropout
7135 E Camelback #125, Scottsdale
480-970-1700

We watched the Cubs win the World Series here! In between drinks and cheers we munched on the crispy shrimp caesar salad!

Malee's Soup

Malee's Thai Bistro
7131 E Main Street, Scottsdale
480-947-6042

We tried the Tom Ka Gai - which was fantastic! I genuinely hadn't been to a Thai restaurant before this, but would definitely go back.

Stetson Chopped Salad

Cowboy Ciao
7133 E Stetson Drive, Scottsdale
480-946-3111

We had to try their Stetson Chopped Salad, which they are famous for! They were even kind enough to give us the recipe to take home.

Whiskey Row

Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row
4420 N Saddlebag Trail, Scottsdale
480-945-4200

If you like country music, you kind of HAVE to visit this spot. We enjoyed it so much that we visited it twice during our short stay. Cheers y'all!

Pedal Haus Brewery

Pedal Haus Brewery
730 S Mill Avenue #102, Tempe
480-314-2337

We took a $10 UBER ride to the ASU campus and found this great spot! Multiple bars, outdoor patios, and industrial vibes made it a winner.

Super Chunk

Super Chunk
7120 E 6th Avenue #19, Scottsdale
602-736-2383

Need a fix for your sweet tooth? We were able to sample a few of their cookies and some of their popcorn during the food tour we were on.

PLAY IN SCOTTSDALE

With hiking, golf, horseback riding, and more at your fingertips, there are endless opportunities for adventure during your trip. We can't wait to try more activities in the future!

We had a blast on this tour - we did the Lunch Tour #2 - and felt so stuffed at the end! Our guide was great - definitely check it out!

Cave Creek Outfitters

Cave Creek Outfitters
31313 N 144th Street, Scottsdale
480-471-4635

We opted for a 2 hour horseback ride through the desert trails and enjoyed a homemade BBQ meal with the staff after the ride!

Scottsdale Trolley

Downtown Scottsdale Trolley
Downtown Scottsdale

This FREE trolley is the perfect way to see all the downtown has to offer. I'd suggest doing the whole loop before picking where you want to jump off!
