Take a Savannah Taste Food Tour

We love going on food tours whenever we travel somewhere new, and Savannah Taste’s Secret and East End Food Tour did not disappoint! Our tour guide Dan took us to six fun spots that we wouldn’t have discovered without the tour, and we learned so much history along the way. By the end of the tour you’ll be filled with food, laughter, and a better sense of the city! Plus, who doesn’t like food?

LSS Savannah Ghost Tour

Get Spooked with Genteel + Bard

Savannah has a TON of haunted history, and we learned all about it from T.C. on our nighttime Savannah Ghost Encounters Tour! T.C. is an amazing storyteller that engages all ages during your experience, and the tour is easy to follow because you’ll be listening to his stories via your own private wireless audio receiver. You also might want to check with him before booking your accommodations - we learned there are a ton of haunted hotels and vacation rentals in the downtown. Unless of course, you like rooming with ghosts.

Savannah Riverboat Cruise

Cruise on a Riverboat Sightseeing Cruise

Get a great view of the Savannah Riverfront and learn about industry in the area on a 1.5 hour cruise on the Georgia Queen! A full buffet meal option is available, or head to the top deck for burgers, appetizers, soft drinks, and beer! They have cruise options from morning to night, so you’ll be able to find the perfect tour for your schedule and group!

Savannah American Prohibition Museum

Visit the American Prohibition Museum ( + Speakeasy)

Have you ever ordered a delicious, prohibition-style cocktail while walking through exhibits at museum? We hadn’t, but you can here! Head over to the City Market to visit the American Prohibition Museum. This museum was so well put together and is a must if you like your alcohol served with a side of history. Purchase your drink tickets in advance at the door for a discount!

Soak in The History

Downtown Savannah is quite literally PACKED with history. Get out on foot and explore the sights, or snag a spot on an Old Town Trolley Tour to get a more guided look at the area. There is a ton to learn about how the city’s squares were planned , the Civil War era, Prohibition stories, the beginning of the Girl Scouts, and more! The historic (and gorgeous) buildings, streets, and trees all reflect the city’s story.

Enjoy the Food + Drink Scene

I don’t think we had one bad meal or drink while we were in Savannah! From morning coffee spots and organic pizzas to fresh seafood and whiskey drinks, this city has it ALL. You can read about the exact spots we visited here, and we didn’t even get to all of the potential dining and drinking options we considered. Guess that means we’ll have to go back, right?

Take Photos!

You don’t have to take a formal tour to experience the ambiance of Savannah. Each street, square, building, and nook has so much character and there is no shortage of picture-worthy spots. I snapped a bunch of cool photos during our trip that we’ve already framed for our home! Get behind the lens (even if it is just your iPhone!) and create some memories!
